In a street interview filmed in Orangeville and published October 31, 2026, Tradecon Media asked the team behind The Plumbing Expert what keeps a plumbing company steady year after year. The answer was simple: “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”
“Business is cyclical.”
Work in the trades is cyclical. It slows down in the winter and surges in the summer. A company built on more than one service line keeps moving through both: when one kind of work is slow, the other keeps the crews busy and the customers looked after.
The Plumbing Expert was founded in 2011 in Orangeville. Led by a master plumber with 26 years in the trade, the company serves Orangeville and Dufferin County with plumbing, HVAC, gas fitting, drain, and water filtration services.
Asked about the difference between a boss and a leader, there was no hesitation. “A leader shows people how to do things.” A boss, by contrast, has a leader work under them.
The interview closed with the three levels of a working life. First you learn, as an apprentice. Then you earn, once you are licensed and building something of your own. Then you return, and give back to your community and your industry.
That last level is why the interview happened at all: a local trades company, standing in a parking lot in Orangeville, teaching for free.
